Proud Partner Of The Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie for the Second Year
March 30th, 2010 - Once again Stageline, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of mobile hydraulic stages, partners with the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie to build a two level mobile unit which can be installed in only 3 hours, even in extreme weather conditions and by a small team of only 4 individuals. This is the first project of its kind in Canada or the world.
The objective was to transform the structure of a 32’ x 24’ mobile stage into a two level mobile building to educate and demonstrate to hundreds of students per day about the importance of physical training and good health habits. The first level has been equipped with multi media stations including touch screens and computers. The second level features a training room with 16 pre-positioned stationary bicycles connected to a special training software.
All structural elements and other components have been designed, tested and integrated to the same Stageline SL 260 mobile stage model as those that were recently used to complete the cross-country journey of the Olympic Torch Relay.
A multi purpose mobile building with unlimited possibilities
As well as all the technical objectives related to a big challenge such as this, the projects’ commercial objective was to develop and further commercialise a multi purpose multi level mobile building that could serve many different applications and fields such as: health sectors, education and commercial activities.
Choosing aluminum
The construction of a promotional mobile unit requires meticulous attention to detail on the finishing and visual impact of the unit. Using aluminum for certain elements allows for this whilst decreasing the weight of the unit and, maximises the amount of equipment to be carried inside the trailer. This project stands alone as a showcase for the numerous possibilities of this material. Stageline would like to thank the CQRDA (Centre québécois de recherche et de développement de l’aluminium) for its generous financial contribution as well as the team of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie for their vision.

STAGELINE GROUP INAUGURATES QUEBEC’S MOST ENERGY-EFFICIENT, LEED-COMPLIANT INDUSTRIAL BUILDING
L’Assomption, October 1, 2008 – Stageline Group, a world leader in the design, manufacture and rental of mobile stages, today inaugurated Quebec’s most energy-efficient industrial building, the second-highest-performing facility of its kind in Canada. Mr. David Whissell, Quebec Minister of Labour and Minister responsible for the Lanaudière region, Mr. Marc Dutil, president and chief operating officer of Canam Group, and Mr. Pierre Arcand, president of MuroxEnergy, attended the event. Built at a cost of $6.5 million, with 20 percent of this amount earmarked to meet the “green construction” and “energy efficiency” LEED® certification criteria, the Stageline Group facility constitutes a first among small and medium-size industrial businesses in Quebec. The building stands apart as a model that financial institutions and governments can draw inspiration from in making sustainable construction accessible to SMBs in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
“We did not hesitate to invest in innovative concepts that have made our building a unique laboratory,” declared Stageline Group president and chief operating officer Lise Morissat. “Together with MuroxEnergy, we developed a practical method for successfully executing a sustainable-construction project specific to small and medium-size firms.”
The project has served to advance green-construction expertise, enabling engineers, architects, site managers and skilled workers to acquire cutting-edge know-how, including in the region of L’Assomption, the city where the facility was built. Minister responsible for the region David Whissell is pleased that Stageline Group has chosen to ”take part in the region’s economy, with the construction of its new facilities in Lanaudière. I am convinced that this business development will have an economic impact that will benefit all citizens in the region,” he said.
A green building like Stageline Group’s produces energy savings of 70 percent compared to a conventional structure. The firm thus expects to make a profit on its investment within six years and believes that eco-responsible construction can be profitable for SMBs provided that appropriate financial-support mechanisms are in place.
“Quebec and Canada have adopted environmental policies that speak to our collective willingness to protect our environment,” said Ms Morissat. “But we must go further,” she emphasized. “Today, we’re inviting all stakeholders in construction projects – governments, investment and venture-capital firms, insurance companies, appraisers and financial institutions – to cooperate in quickly developing tools and mechanisms to support SMBs in their sustainable-construction projects.”
LEED® - compliant high-energy-efficiency building
Stageline Group’s new facility, covering nearly 3,760 sq. m (40,000 sq. ft.), has been designed to meet the stringent LEED®(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) norms of the Canada Green Building Council, who is now LEED® certified. The building combines a high-energy-efficiency exterior envelope, deep geothermal power and solar energy harnessing systems, radiant flooring, and windows and light wells that maximize natural lighting and energy conservation. A system collects rainwater for reuse and exterior spaces are ecologically laid out. Recycled materials and materials that have no harmful health effects were used in the construction process, whereas waste, pollutants and dust were minimized.
Construction of the building, which houses Stageline Group’s manufacturing, maintenance and breaking-in processes, responds to increased demand from North American producers of openair tours. “Our building reflects our mobile stages, the goal concerning which has remained unchanged since we started operations – to minimally impact the environment, reduce energy consumption and ensure the product a long life,” stated Yvan Miron, Stageline Group’s board chairman and CEO.

The Canada Green Building Council initiative recognizes sustainable-building achievements and expertise through a program of certification for construction projects, professional accreditation and training, and access to sources of practical information.
7 Stageline® mobile stages for the Montreal International Jazz Festival
L’Assomption, QC – For 15 years, Stageline® mobile stages have been part of the scenery at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Indeed, when it comes down to organizing outdoors concerts in downtown Montreal, producers and organizers have always trusted Stageline® equipment for its safety and high mobility; those features enable them to choose the most unique or scenic spot in town for their event. This year, 7 stages were deployed in the heart of Montreal, including the impressive ‘’ Scène General Motors’’, a Stageline® SAM 440 (44 X 40 ft), fitted with two 9 X 12 ft giant screens and installed at the corner of St-Catherine St. and Jeanne-Mance St. It was a memorable experience for the thousands of spectators who were attending the show that night!

SL 100: Picking up some muscle
The sound wing extensions of the SL 100 may now support up to 800 lb of equipment per side. This increase of 300 lb of the rigging capacity has been made possible by using a galvanized steel fastening device without altering the structural integrity or adding weight to the stage. Such an improvement allows for rigging bigger sound systems. This new feature is now standard on all new models produced since April 2007. All SL 100 built before this date can be upgraded with this kit.

Ex Award 2007: Mission accomplished for the Promobile
The verdict is in: Motorola’s StudioMoto campaign won this year’s Grand Ex Award! Such a success is reflected on Stageline since the agency responsible for the project, Chicago-based OgilvyAction, used a Promobile to create the quintessential experiential marketing. With more than 1700 sq² of usable space, split up into two (2) levels and 2100 sq² of advertising space, the Promobile proved to be the perfect tool for this type of operation, where high mobility, flexibility and tight schedules are the norm rather than the exception. The first floor hosted the product trial area, featuring demo stations, sampling kiosk and live interaction; the second floor, towering at 24’ above ground level, received a VIP treatment and got transformed into a cosy lounge area with a breathtaking view of the site. The Promobile responded perfectly to the challenge at a hand, a 12 week tour across the United States, 36 events and an target of getting more than one million of consumers in a buying mode.

Covered sound wing deck system for the SAM 555
L’Assomption, QC – The new SAM 555, featuring the covered sound wing deck system, made its official debuts on July 1st, in Montreal, for the Manu Chao concert. The two 40' x 20' sound wing decks (32' X 20' covered) provide for a convenient and ample band staging space, not to mention an optimal protection of crews, instruments and equipment in case of bad weather. Another important feature is the modular door system, featuring seven (7) freight doors, located on the four sides of each platform. As a result, both platforms can be used as covered docks, hence easing loading and unloading operations. Especially designed and built to fit the SAM 555 series, the covered sound wings system is likely to be a must for any major outdoor event requiring extensive production logistics. Based on the equipment’s performance several outdoors concerts across North America will be benefiting from this stage configuration.
2007 Grand Prix F1 of Canada and Fergie’s concert in Montreal:
A busy week-end in Montreal for Stageline mobile stages
L’Assomption, QC, June 11, 2007 – Every year, the Grand Prix F1 of Canada gets Montreal in party mode for three days. Action is everywhere: on the Gilles-Villeneuve racetrack but also downtown and it gets even hotter when the sun kicks in. Within this context of festivities and promotional activities, Productions Equinoxe, the marketing firm in charge of the promotion of Budweiser products, used a Stageline SL 250. This type of unit responded perfectly to the logistics constraints of the event and proved to be an effective marketing tool.
Downtown Montreal, on Saturday, June 9, Fergie performed live on a brand new Stageline SAM 555. This outdoor performance, presented by during the ‘’Music Loves Fashion’’ event, was held in conjunction with Time Supper Club’s 5th Year Anniversary celebration. A Stageline Promobile – a mobile stage featuring a double deck – has also been deployed to serve as a VIP lounge, offering a spectacular view on the concert.
Thanks to their versatility, reliability and speed of deployment, Stageline mobile stages have demonstrated that they were instrumental in the success of any type of outdoor event.
